1. Orders, Substitutions & Stock Limitations
If we cannot fulfill your order in full, we will notify you using the email provided at checkout.
Where necessary, and only with your prior consent, we may substitute an item with a product of similar value, size, or type.
In certain situations (e.g., stock verification anomalies, suspected fraud, or inconsistent address data), we may temporarily hold your order and request additional confirmation.
2. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, you may refuse delivery, and it will automatically be returned to us.
If you discover a problem after delivery, you must notify us within 15 days. Although EU law grants consumers a 2‑year legal guarantee, producers may define reasonable reporting windows for shipping‑damage claims if this does not restrict statutory guarantee rights.

If a fault is covered under the EU 2‑year legal guarantee, we will repair, replace, or refund the item as appropriate.
We do not offer refunds for damage resulting from:
- Improper opening or storage
- Failure to follow handling instructions
- Damage caused after successful delivery
To protect against fraudulent claims, we reserve the right to request photos, batch numbers, and packaging evidence before processing any claim — compliant with EU rules as long as this does not restrict legitimate guarantee rights. If you do not provide the information requested by us in a timely way, we will be unable to process your request.
3. Right of Withdrawal (Cooling‑Off Period)
Under EU law, consumers may withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days without stating a reason. However, perishable food items (including olive oil once opened or unsealed) may be excluded from the right of withdrawal if the seal has been broken.
Unopened bottles can be returned under the 14‑day rule as long as the consumer pays return‑shipping costs (unless the product is defective).
4. Delivery Failures & Responsibility
As a small producer, we cannot be held responsible for failed deliveries resulting from:
- Incorrect or incomplete address information
- Invalid or misspelled email or phone numbers
- Absence of the recipient
- Failure to collect the parcel after attempted delivery
EU law requires that consumers provide correct delivery details and allows traders to disclaim liability for consumer‑caused delivery failures.
If the parcel is returned to us due to these reasons, we will contact you to arrange redelivery. Additional shipping and storage fees may apply.
5. Not Home at Delivery
If no one is available at the delivery address:
- Carriers may deliver to a trusted neighbor (common in several EU countries, including Germany).
- A notice card or email notification may be provided.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to monitor tracking updates and retrieve the parcel promptly.
If a parcel remains uncollected, the courier company may charge additional shipping, handling, or warehousing costs.
6. Fraud Prevention & Abuse Protection
To protect our business and ensure fair use of consumer rights, we may take the following actions when fraud or abuse is suspected, consistent with EU law:
- Request identity or address verification before fulfilling suspicious orders
- Refuse service where fraudulent chargebacks, abusive return patterns, or threats are identified (EU law allows refusal for legitimate reasons unrelated to discrimination)
- Delay shipment until payment verification is complete
- Block repeated abusive accounts or addresses
These measures comply with EU unfair‑commercial‑practices rules as long as they are proportionate and non‑discriminatory.
7. Taxes, Duties & Local Charges
Local taxes, VAT adjustments, or import duties (if applicable) are the customer’s responsibility and may vary by destination country.
EU distance‑selling regulations require disclosure of all tax‑related obligations before purchase, and the import procedures are made by the courier company we use. They calculate the estimated taxes, duties and local charges, and they are responsible for any claim on this subject.
